Booking and Studio Policies

We are a privately owned studio. We hand pick which projects we would like to work on. If you are interested in recording your next project with us please contact us. Please make sure you fully understand our booking and studio policies before you book sessions with us.

Bookings
Pulsar Audio Lab requires a minimum of 2 hours for any session or service. You can review our current fees by visiting our Service Rates section on the Studio page. Bookings for sessions require at least a14-day advance notice and arrange the time schedule for your individual sessions in written confirmation by signing a Work Order Agreement and full payment received by Pulsar Audio Lab. Your session hours must be used within 60 days of the beginning of a Work Order Agreement unless your first session is scheduled for a later start date, at which time the 60-day maximum policy will take affect. Pulsar Audio Lab reserves the right to refuse services to anyone, at anytime, for any reason.

Session Planning
We will have a short consultation with you around the time of your booking to understand how we can best serve you and know what your expectations for your sessions are. We strongly recommend that you plan out each of your sessions and recording days ahead of time and allow for some overtime incase the tracking and overdubbing process takes longer than you expect. We recommend your group selects a leader to mediate between group members and Pulsar Audio Lab. This will help maintain order and responsibility for your project. We will be happy to assist you in scheduling and general work flow for your sessions. We highly suggest getting instruments professionally set up with new strings, batteries, etc. Drum and percussion instruments should have hardware tighten and working and new heads/skins installed and tuned. Amplifiers and effects with tubes might need to have a fresh set installed.

Payment
You will be required to sign a Work Order Agreement and submit your full payment for the entire number of hours proposed at the time of booking. Payment forms that are accepted are cash, money orders, and certified/cashier’s checks. At this time personal and business checks, credit and debt cards along with PayPal payments are not accepted. Pulsar Audio Lab treats each of our customers and their need individually and attempts to address their goals with all resources at our disposal. Financial arrangements between Pulsar Audio Lab and artist, production and/or record companies must be finalized prior to the beginning of any project. Pulsar Audio Lab does reserves the right to refuse any payment arrangements.

Time Extensions for a Session
Extension of session time beyond your scheduled time slot must be worked out with your session engineer prior to start of your session. Pulsar Audio Lab will do it’s best to accommodate you, but does reserve the right to refuse an extension. You will be required to sign an "Extension of Work Order Agreement" for the extra time and to make full payment at the end of that session. If you will be returning to fulfill the remainder of your work order, you may have the option, at Pulsar Audio Lab's discretion, to pay the extension fees at the start of your next scheduled session.

Late Arrival to a Session
Late arrivals of at least 15 minutes for any session will be billed a "Late Arrival Fee," which is the hourly rate of one hour of session time listed on your work order. If the late arrival time continues past 30 minutes of your scheduled session time, you will be billed the standard "Late Arrival Fee" plus the time that you are past due in 30-minute blocks based upon the hourly rate of your work order. All late arrival fees are to be paid at the end of that session. If you will be returning to fulfill the remainder of this work order, you may have the option, at Pulsar Audio Lab's discretion, to pay the late fees at the start of your next scheduled session.

Early Termination of a Session
Early termination of a session for any reason before your scheduled time slot reserved will be billed for 50% of session time remaining according to the stated hourly rate charged on your work order. All session early termination fees are to be paid at the beginning of your next scheduled session if you will be returning to fulfill the remainder of this work order and must be settled within 3 business days.

Cancellation
You are required to contact us at least 48 hours prior to your session of cancellation for any reason and reschedule it. If you cancel after the 48-hour grace period and/or do not reschedule your canceled session, you will be billed for 50% of session time you had reserved according to the stated hourly rate charged on your Work Order. All session cancellation fees are to be paid at the beginning of your next scheduled session. Cancellation of an entire work order will be subject to a 50% non-refundable cancellation fee. The remaining balance will be refunded by business check from Pulsar Audio Lab within 30 business days after your notice of cancellation is received.

Rescheduling
Rescheduling of a session must be arranged within 48 hours of your cancellation or you will be billed 50% of the time you had reserved according to the stated hourly rate charged on your work order. Rescheduling times and dates are subject to available session time slots.

Media Storage and Archiving
Pulsar Audio Lab exercises extreme care and handling of all stored files and media used on sessions and archives clients’ session data on a regular basis while your work order is open. Pulsar Audio Lab assumes no liability for loss or damage to any such property. We do offer archival services. All media left at Pulsar Audio Lab over 30 days that is not on an active work order will be subject to storage fees and relocation or complete deletion.

Client Equipment Storage
Pulsar Audio Lab exercises extreme care and handling of all client equipment and personal property brought into the studio facility. Pulsar Audio Lab assumes no liability for loss or damage to any such property. This includes, but is not exclusive to: clients’ instruments, processors, racks cases, cabling, stands, amplifiers, speakers, media, computers and other musical or personal items. Pulsar Audio Lab recommends that you secure appropriate insurance coverage for the full value of any such property before your first session date. Most home owner's and renter's insurance policies may cover your equipment, please check with your insurance agent.

Property Rights
All in-house and customer supplied media, data storage devices and materials used and/or created in your sessions will remain the sole property of Pulsar Audio Lab until the account balance has been paid in full.
This includes, but is not exclusive to: hard drives, USB/compact flash/Secure Digital/and other portable memory storage devices, compact discs and DVD's, tapes, and other content delivery formats.

Pulsar Audio Lab has the right to use any and all clients’ session work created in whole or part at Pulsar Audio Lab for its own self promotional use, but will not sell or act as an agent on behalf of any client or collect royalty fees in association for such promotional and/or demonstration use unless a contractual agreement is made with Pulsar Audio Lab.

Facility Policies
Pulsar Audio Lab is a privately owned studio. We maintain a professional environment and protect our equipment and customers. Our facility is a non-smoking and drug/alcohol free environment. Violation of this policy can result in forfeiture of session fees paid and remaining time. All band members, musicians, producers and creative team for all clients may be require to sign off on a Studio Policy Agreement form either before or at their first visit to the studio to ensure everyone understands and will abide to our policies.

We take pride in our studio and its equipment and want to allow all customer the same rights to our facility and equipment. Any customer damage and/or theft of any facility area and/or equipment will be charged to your account and could face prosecution. We reserve the right to cancel customer sessions for unacceptable use of the facility, or abuse of its personnel, business terms and/or policies. Violation of this policy can result in forfeiture of session fees paid and remaining studio time.

Pulsar Audio Lab is a closed session environment. During your sessions the studio is only available to studio staff and assistants/interns, necessary and immediate members of the band or group and your producer(s). If we feel for any reason that a member or guest with you is unnecessary, Pulsar Audio Lab reserves the right to have the individual(s) leave the studio facility and building preemies. No animals or pets are allowed in the studio facility for any reason.

Disclaimer

Pulsar Audio Lab is proud to provide access to its facility but makes no statements as to its usefulness for specific purposes. Our facility is maintained to the best professional standards as determined by our staff and it is up to the customer to identify the usefulness of our facility for their specific activities and workflow. We have a combination of classic audio equipment together with top-class new technology and computer-based recording system. There is a possibility Pulsar Audio Lab may not be able to service everyone to their degree of expectation and/or meet the needs of every level of expectations and/or meet the needs of every kind of project. Pulsar Audio Lab, its heirs, employees, legal representatives or assigns, and all persons functioning under his/her permission or authority, or those for whom he/she is functioning are not liable in any way for projects attempted at our facility where our facility is at any time deemed incapable of meeting the specific needs or marketability of a project or customer for whatever reasons.

Pulsar Audio Lab reserves the right to change any or all parts of our policies at any time without prior notice.
